After graduating from the Cambridge University Engineering Department in 1984, Richard Heeps went on to study Photography at the West Surrey College of Art and Design in 1991. Byard Art have featured his work at our Gallery since 2010 and he has exhibited widely at the major art fairs in London and abroad. Richard’s work explores a diverse range of subject matter, from the Rockabilly culture in America to the eerie landscape of the Fens. His distinct yet varied style is heavily inspired by his childhood excursions to the Fens in his Father’s car. He describes his view from within the car to be the start of his photo apprenticeship, stating that “I have been, and still am, exploring the unique fabric of the place from within the Car with Wings.”
