Nando Stevoli (Ferrara, 1953), artist of the “pleating” inspired by Minimal Art and Op Art.
Stevoli interprets Fontana’s word through research on the pleating of the canvas: a simple
canvas arranged, accompanied on the support, generates highly expressive compositions
with a precise color palette and a strong visual identity, the plissé, not without reference
to the Japanese aesthetics. After a long series of artistic experiments, from figurative
painting to informal art and lithographic-type engravings, the artist identifies the path
of plissè and in 2016 he joined the Rigorismo founded by Flavio Lattuada and Massimo
Donà. Has participated in several group and personal exhibitions in Italy and worldwide.
Lives and works in Ferrara.
