Pino Pinelli was born in Catania in 1938. He lives and works in Milan.
In the seventies he was one of the protagonists of the current that Filiberto Menna defined Analytical Painting distinguishing itself, inside, for the monochromaticity of his works, and for the "dissemination" which consists in breaking the picture and placing the "fragments / scales ”, On which his research focuses from that moment.
Forms and materials are transformed, over the years, while remaining strictly coherent with their own aniconicity; invents a mixed technique, resulting in various amalgamated materials that, covered with veils of paint, take on the appearance of a sensuously tactile "pictorial skin", almost like velvet.
