PINO PINELLI

PINO PINELLI - Biography

Pino Pinelli was born in Catania in 1938. He lives and works in Milan.

In the seventies he was one of the protagonists of the current that Filiberto Menna defined Analytical Painting distinguishing itself, inside, for the monochromaticity of his works, and for the "dissemination" which consists in breaking the picture and placing the "fragments / scales ”, On which his research focuses from that moment.

Forms and materials are transformed, over the years, while remaining strictly coherent with their own aniconicity; invents a mixed technique, resulting in various amalgamated materials that, covered with veils of paint, take on the appearance of a sensuously tactile "pictorial skin", almost like velvet.

He holds more than one hundred personal exhibitions in Italian and international museums and cultural institutions; we will mention only a few: Kunstverein Villa Franck of Ludwigsburg, Musée d'Art of Langre, Forum Kunst of Rottweil, Civic Gallery of Art of Gallarate, Kunstverein Schoss Lamberg of Steyr, Exhibition Center la Rocca Paolina of Perugia, Italian Institute of Culture of London and Prague, Cascina Roma San Donato Milanese, Villa La Versiliana of Pietrasanta, Aeolian Archaeological Museum "Bernabò Brea" of Lipari, Palazzo del Duca, Senigallia ...
