PAVEL MANSOUROFF - Biography

RUSSIAN PAINTER (PETERSBURG 1896 - NICE 1983). AFTER HIS ART STUDIES IN PETERSBURG, DURING MILITARY SERVICE, HE DESIGNED PROPELLERS AND HANGARS AND CREATED HIS FIRST ABSTRACT DRAWINGS. EMBRACING THE REVOLUTIONARY CAUSE, HE WORKED ALONGSIDE THE MOST SIGNIFICANT EXPONENTS OF THE AVANT-GARDE: WORKED IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE PEOPLE'S COMMISSIONER FOR EDUCATION WITH KS MALEVIČ AND VE TATLIN AND, SINCE 1922, HEAD OF THE OF ARTISTIC CULTURE) OF LENINGRADO.
