Aformer run-down neighborhood on the outskirts of Miami, Wynwood has now become a kind of open-air museum of masonry and more. Buildings that were once dilapidated, regenerated by the work of street artists from all over the world, now house trendy galleries, bars, restaurants. The author’s eye and especially the photographic lens rested on Winwood when her transformation was in its infancy and wandering among the illustrated houses still required some caution. Not a simple photographic reportage, however: rather a search for particular shots and cuts that would enhance, documenting it, the widespread creativity among those streets.
